Best Training Courses, Equipment, and Nutrition for Your Cane Corso

At Country Lane Cane Corso, we’re passionate about providing the best care and guidance for our Cane Corso family.

Raising these big, beautiful dogs is an amazing experience, but I know it can feel overwhelming at times—especially when it comes to picking the right tools and resources for training, nutrition, and everything in between.

That's why I want to share what’s worked best for us at Country Lane Cane Corso.

Whether you're a new puppy owner or an experienced dog enthusiast, I’m sharing a few of our favorite go-to’s for Cane Corso training, dog equipment, and nutrition to help you raise a healthy and well-behaved dog.

Dog Trainers and Online Training Courses for Cane Corso

Training a Cane Corso is an essential part of raising a well-behaved, loyal companion. These dogs are smart and eager to please, but they’re also big and strong, so getting their obedience down early is key.

Here are a couple of online courses we’ve personally used and have found really helpful — and we think you’ll find them just as useful:

Will Atherton Dog Training Academy:

  • I know Will and highly respect him and his training methods.

  • He uses a common sense approach to dog training. His straightforward, easy-to-understand, directions are to the point and it works.

  • Perfect Puppy Course is an excellent course for new Cane Corso puppy owners, and one we use on our puppies!

DIY K9

  • I used Garret Wing’s e-collar training course “Unleashed” for our adult Corsos & wholeheartedly recommend it.

  • No-fuss training methods that make a big impact.

  • Very detailed courses, which can make these courses feel “higher level” at times, but very good and effective content.

Dog Equipment: The Stuff We Use and Swear By

Let’s face it: Cane Corsos are strong!

And because of their size, it’s super important to have the right equipment that can handle all that muscle.

We’ve tried a bunch of different gear over the years, and here are the things that have really held up:

Fenrir Canine Leaders

  • Awesome dog collars, leashes, harnesses, and dog toys…

at affordable prices, with large breed dog sizes!

  • I really like and recommend their slip leash for puppy training

E-Collar Technologies

  • We use e-collars for our adult Cane Corso dogs when running free around the farm.

  • They’re great for “off-leash” training, recall, and teaching manners.

  • We use these every day and highly recommend them.

Elite K9

  • Dog essentials like prong/pinch collars, leashes, etc

  • I personally LOVE their ASAT Lead 4’L

  • Great prices on Herm Sprenger prong/pinch collars

    • we use prong collars every time we socialize in town, training, etc.

      • We only recommend Herm Sprenger prong collars…you can get cheaper brand prong collars on Amazon, etc…but sometimes the prongs have sharp edges, or the metal isn’t strong enough for a Corso and bends/breaks.

    • Herm Sprenger 3.2mm is good size to start with for 3+ month-old puppies (you can also get them in stainless steel instead of black)

    • Herm Sprenger 4.0mm is what we use on 100+lb Corso adults (you can also get them in stainless steel instead of black)

Tractive GPS tracker

  • We use this when our dogs are free to roam around the farm.

  • It has a GPS tracker on it that we can check with an app on our phone or desktop to know where they are.

  • You can set boundary lines so it will alert your phone if your dog has ventured to far away from home.
